Consultant Anaesthetist - 2.5 hours from Melbourne Work Type: Permanent Full TimeLocation: VICStart Date: 1.0 FTE Position 2.5 hours from Melbourne & 30 minutes from golden beaches Family friendly and affordable housing We are seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist for a 1.0 FTE position in a regional Victoria Hospital only 2.5 hours from Melbourne and 30 minutes to golden beaches. This is a great family friendly location with plenty of outdoor pursuits, fantastic local produce, restaurants and cafes.The position: A Consultant Anaesthetist is needed to provide anaesthetic services for a range of elective surgical specialties including: Endoscopy, General Dentistry, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Orthopaedics, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery and other surgical specialties as may be introduced. The position holder participates in a 24/7 roster to provide emergency services, including: anaesthetic services for emergency surgery, procedural expertise and support for ICU/CCU (e.g. intubation and vascular access) and resuscitation services such as Medical Emergency Team (MET) and Code Blue Calls.The Consultant Anaesthetist works closely with the Head of Unit (HOU) and may be required to act in the HOU position during absences.About the Hospital: The Hospital provides a range of services including a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, 3 operating theatres, day procedure unit, and oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and surgical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.Essential Criteria: A primary medical qualification registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent postgraduate clinical training, qualifications and experience assessed by the College as suitable for this position. Location: An attractive and prosperous city located only 2.5 hours from Melbourne and 30 minutes from golden beaches with lakes on the doorstep.
