Job Description

POSITION PROFILE The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) is seeking experienced Specialists in Emergency Medicine to provide comprehensive clinical management of emergency medicine patients presented to the WAVED. You will provide Emergency Medicine assessment, advice, and management via video consultation, both in the community and Residential Aged Care facilities, in collaboration with St John Ambulance and other community-facing agencies. Minimum Requirements: Registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia. ABOUT THE WA VIRTUAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) is an initiative managed by the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) in 2023, providing patients the option of being seen virtually in the comfort of their own home when safe and appropriate, rather than waiting in an emergency department (ED). The overarching aim of WAVED is to improve access to care and provide treatment options that achieve equally good or better patient outcomes without the need to physically visit an Emergency Department. WAVED partners with multiple agencies to help deliver the care the patient requires.
