Consultant Geriatrician (Locum) Job Description: Supportive, engaged, dynamic team Part-time Locum/Locums (Up to 35 hours per week from late April 2025 to at least January 2026) Fitzroy and St George’s campuses About the Role We are looking for a dedicated, flexible Consultant Geriatrician (or Geriatricians) to join the Department of Geriatric Medicine, deployed into a range of areas to support leave cover. The commitment in terms of hours and duration will be negotiated by mutual agreement based on the availability of the successful applicant(s) and SVHM’s service requirements. As a successful applicant, you will become part of a dynamic team which works across clinical rotations in acute and subacute care, consultation in public and private hospitals, transition and residential care facilities, specialty clinics and home, virtual and community services. You will be involved in the teaching of medical students from the University of Melbourne, junior medical and other staff, including participation in the supervision and mentoring of Advanced Trainees. You will be expected to become involved in hospital activities, including committees and other quality improvement or research activities. Classifications for this position will range from HN19 - HN59 or HM33 - HM41 (according to the Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026 or its successor) Candidates may express interest in the role, even if their availability in terms of dates and hours does not absolutely align with requirements, as there may be some flexibility. Experience across acute, subacute and community settings is preferred and an interest in specialty geriatric medicine clinics, including onco-geriatrics and continence desirable. Clinical services are based at St Vincent’s Hospital in Fitzroy and St Georges Health Service (SGHS) in Kew and extend into our catchment community from both locations.
