The Benefits Attractive remuneration package up to AUD$502,265 pa (subject to level of experience) A $451 million redevelopment project is set to transform Bunbury Regional Hospital into one of the most modern facilities in regional Australia First class quality of life, without stresses and demands of city living and city costs Beautiful coastal city only 90 minutes’ drive to Perth 1hr drive to world famous Margaret River Wine Region The Role Seeking a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to: Provide excellent specialist level clinical care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to a regional referral centre, including support to the level 2 and 3 sites that refer care to the regional centre. As part of a multidisciplinary team, provide specialist medical services to patients at Bunbury Hospital and other South West hospitals as necessary to support appropriate service delivery. Provide leadership supporting high standards of patient safety and quality of care. Provide leadership and facilitate orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for Doctors in Training (DiTs), health service medical practitioners and other health workers. Bunbury Hospital is an acute and specialist care facility with a focus on providing high quality and compassionate health care services to Bunbury and the South West community of Western Australia. Bunbury Hospital has specialty clinical directorates covering: Emergency and Mental Health care; Surgical Services; Intensive Care, General and Geriatric medicine; Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Bunbury Hospital is also collocated with the private St John of God Hospital, Genesis Radiation Oncology, Imaging Services, Dental Health and PathWest at the South West Health Campus. Requirements Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABOG certified) or New Zealand. The Medical Board of Australia implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration in December 2024, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in certain specialties. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the next priority specialty to be considered.
