About the Opportunity This role represents a rare opportunity to join our Nuclear and Capability (N&C) Business Unit, as we grow ASC capabilities to support both Collins Class and Nuclear Powered Submarine Programs. The role will report to the Consulting Manager and will work closely with all business units requiring consulting services. The Consulting Specialist is responsible for detailed project management and support activities across a broad internal and external consultancy function. The role will be responsible for the management and provision of process and expert consultants across the business, facilitation of innovative thinking and problem solving, knowledge transfer activities, and conduct of special projects. Responsibilities In partnership with the Consulting Manager, manages internal (ASC) consultants for various projects as required, including pastoral care, management of tasking statements, stakeholder engagement, data management, process development and administrative support. Relevant programs include the Engineering Associates Program and the Senior Consultancy Program. Lead both minor and major components of the work required to develop the Intelligent Customer Function, including the conduct of initial planning and development, project implementation and ongoing governance and management, Input into the ongoing management of the Consulting strategy & policy, ensuring its alignment to overall business strategy in the areas of Internal consultancy and Intelligent customer competencies for external consulting. Support the development and maintenance of an understanding of ASC’s external consulting trends and identify areas for potential future internal capability growth and rationalisation. Conduct special projects as required (e.g. bid development, improvement projects & tasks, red team reviews, support or lead various projects). About you Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant or similar role within the defence, manufacturing or resource sector. Demonstrable experience in managing projects of varying size and complexity. Demonstrable experience in leading or supporting developing and executing project strategies, project plans, project methodologies & processes. Demonstrable experience with contracting and external consultant procurement and management processes. Strong data analytics / management skills. Strong Stakeholder and Supplier management skills. Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
