Job Description

Want to bring ideas to life? You’re in the right place. We’ve been a leading design, engineering and advisory company for decades. So why choose Aurecon? It really comes down to one, crucial question: what kind of world do you want to create for the next generation? The decisions being made right now will determine the future of everything – from the local community to the sustainability of our clients’ businesses – to the entire planet. One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for? How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next? Aurecon’s Queensland Environment and Planning team has a strong capability from project planning and feasibility to construction on a wide range of projects across both Queensland and Australia. You will play an integral part in a team that ‘brings ideas to life’ for our clients across the built environment, transport, land and water, energy, and government sectors. Our current committed and projected workload provides a unique opportunity for a Contaminated Land Consultant, Scientist, or Engineer to join the team in our Brisbane or Mackay office. The role offers diverse, interesting, and challenging work with the opportunity to make your mark in a consulting environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, manage, and deliver large contaminated land projects. Develop Sampling Analysis and Quality Plans. Manage field programs including premobilisation and safety planning. Lead fieldwork campaigns including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, supervision of drilling, test pitting, and groundwater well installation. Prepare high-quality analysis and technical reports to ASC NEPM requirements. Collaborate with the team to develop reports to exceptional technical and editorial standards and meet client expectations. Work with inter-disciplinary teams; liaise with clients and regulators. Provide proposal and project management support to the contaminated land team. What are we looking for from you? You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future. We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. We are looking for consultants with the following experience in contaminated land: 5+ years of experience in undertaking contaminated land and/or groundwater investigations. Degree in environmental engineering or science disciplines. A strong professional work ethic and commitment to health and safety for yourself, your team, subcontractors, and clients. Understanding of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and National Environment Protection Measures and other current and emerging Queensland legislation, standards, and guidelines for contaminated land. A desire to deliver exceptional client experiences. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Australian citizenship, or ability to obtain citizenship in the future. Current driver’s license. How will your future be shaped by us? Joining Aurecon means you’ll be at the award-winning edge of innovation and sustainability. We have been ranked Top 5 among sustainability leaders and Top 3 of all innovative companies in professional services. You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident your voice will be heard. We’ve been recognized for our innovation culture, gender equality, and our LGBTI+ inclusion. On a personal level, you’ll have access to flexible work hours, remote work, working holidays, part-time and job share options. You’ll be supported with competitive paid parental leave, cultural public holiday swaps, and wellbeing support programmes. Ready to bring ideas to life? Then please apply.
