With over 4,000 employees from diverse backgrounds across over 50 locations around Australia and overseas, we are proud to create, curate and deliver high-quality content that informs, educates and entertains Australian communities.About the role Under the general guidance of the Video Engineering Team Leader, you will contribute substantially to the day-to-day delivery of lifecycle management of the ABC’s national video content production technology from inception to retirement. You will also drive continuous improvements in reliability and efficiency, aligning with ABC strategy and objectives.Please note: This role does require the successful candidate to work with a rotating on-call roster.Key responsibilities Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, system experts and service providers, and proactively identify issues and take appropriate actions to ensure service obligations are met. Maintain and adhere to established engineering standards and guidelines. Develop and implement medium sized technology solutions that achieve business objectives, by undertaking holistic current state analysis, high level research and analysis, preparation of future state designs and recommendations, and systems commissioning activities. In collaboration with Product & Technology colleagues, develop and carry out very complex proactive systems maintenance and management to ensure systems are highly reliable and highly available, including monitoring, second level incident management, technology change management, problem management, and configuration management. Maintain strong industry knowledge on the ongoing transformation of technology in the media industry and best practice technology management. Proactively identify opportunities to engage with local and national technology teams, analyse learning and development needs, and contribute to the growth and sharing of knowledge. Lead small teams as required, and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture. About you Demonstrated highly advanced knowledge and experience in “build and run” lifecycle management of content production technology solutions in a complex IP network environment. Demonstrated extensive problem-solving, analytical and research abilities, with a strong ability to investigate, diagnose, and solve very complex technical problems in systems such as Stratus, EVS, Mosart, VizRT graphics. Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships and coordinate working groups. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to explain and document very complex technical information for colleagues and clients at all levels. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in knowledge sharing, mentoring, and developing colleagues.
