Champion innovative food relief programs that foster community, health, and engagement for university students. About the Role The Coordinator, Food Programs, leads the design, delivery, and reporting of student food relief initiatives that enhance the health and wellbeing of the university community. Overseeing programs such as SecondBite Frozen Meals and the Campus Cafeteria, the role manages a team of staff and student volunteers to ensure efficient, compliant, and impactful service delivery. Additionally, the position focuses on stakeholder engagement, program evaluation, and user experience analysis to drive continuous improvement and inform university leadership.Please note: the first six months of this role will be working on establishing a new canteen-style hub at both Parkville and Southbank that will serve as a space where students can access affordable, healthy meals and build community. This initiative goes beyond food provision, creating a supportive environment for connection, collaboration, and care. The pilot sites are at Grattan Street and Southbank Campus and will open in Semester 1, 2025. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of fit-for-purpose student food relief programs and activities that support student health and wellbeing, contribute towards successful student experiences, build peer connectivity, while enabling student employability outcomes. Establish and maintain local processes and procedures to coordinate the successful operations and associated workflows of food relief services and locations, applying continuous improvement and review to ensure operational standards, including food service compliance, is achieved. Coordinate the development and maintenance of service level facilities, resources and communication activities to successfully maintain and promote the programs and services among university stakeholders, partners and the wider student community. Identify, lead, and establish the effective implementation of formal partnerships and collaboration activities with key stakeholders throughout Student and Scholarly Services, Academic Divisions, across student leadership groups or associations, and amongst external partners and suppliers. Who we are looking for The ideal candidate demonstrates strong time management and organisational skills, effectively setting and meeting priorities within deadlines. They excel in communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships across diverse stakeholders. They remain flexible, innovative, and team-oriented in achieving departmental goals. You will also have: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. Demonstrated experience in either a student or community service environment, with demonstrable knowledge of student experience needs and priorities within the Australian tertiary student environment. Ability to learn and implement new systems and procedures and identify continuous process improvement opportunities across established or existing procedures and processes. Strong business acumen and demonstrated experience in the development of internal and external formalised partnership activities, to further develop and support the programs and activities.
