Coordinator Industry Development & Transition Permanent Full Time Annual Salary - $105,380.60 – $117,233.48 + 11.5% superannuation. Then we want you!About The Role The Coordinator Industry Development & Transition is responsible for leading Councils engagement with industry and education organisations, to support development and investment opportunities in Latrobe City.Working collaboratively with the Business and Industry Development team, you will showcase Latrobe City’s economy and its products and services at a regional, state, national and international level.About You We are seeking someone with the skills and knowledge to:Facilitate expansion of the region’s sustainable employment capacity by proactively supporting industry growth opportunities and infrastructure improvements within Latrobe City, that enable increased diversification of industry activity. Provide strategic leadership and support to leverage new opportunities in the region as we transform the economy in areas such as renewable energy and other development opportunities. Drive the ongoing development and delivery of Councils Economic Development Strategy, utilising innovative and contemporary approaches to respond to changing economic landscape. Provide leadership by coordinating the activities and resources in the Industry Development and Transition team, and associated alliances and/or other government lead engagement structures in this area. It is highly important that you establish and maintain effective strategic relationships, linkages and partnerships to achieve economic development outcomes including senior level relationships with business and industry, peak bodies, across all levels of government, non-government organisations and other identified stakeholders.You will have: Tertiary qualification in business development/marketing/promotions or similar qualification with several years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience in a relevant environment at a senior level. Proven experience in leading engagement with industry groups, business owners and key stakeholders to inform planning and advocacy items. Experience in and understanding of stakeholder engagement, research and data analysis techniques and the interpretation of these for planning purposes. Project management experience, an ability to prioritise competing needs, and ability to develop strategies and processes to support the advancement of department priorities. Effective interpersonal skills, incorporating a high level of verbal and written communication, problem solving and liaison. Proven experience with Local Government or similar experience in public sector or industry development sectors with a sound understanding of the social, political and legal frameworks in which Local Government operates.
