Permanent Full Time – 38 hours per week Band 8 – $119,380 - $133,491 + super & RDOAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Coordinator Procurement and Contracts to join our team. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership in procurement, tendering, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while driving efficiencies across the organisation. You will lead a dedicated team, offering expert advice to senior leaders and stakeholders to support the delivery of capital works and operational services.Key Responsibilities Provide high level strategic advice to Council and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in relation to the development of Council’s procurement and tendering framework. Identify and develop strategic procurement initiatives that lead to efficiencies to support improved capital works and operational delivery. Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the Contract Management Framework, strategies, initiatives, and associated procedures. Lead and supervise the Procurement and Contracts team to deliver quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Provide expert advice and support to senior managers and staff across the organisation on procurement and tendering issues including relevant sections of the Local Government Act 2020 and Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage strategic procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational objectives. Provide high level strategic advice to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and staff to ensure that all capital and operational service contracts are managed efficiently and effectively. About You To be successful in this role you will have the following: Formal relevant tertiary qualifications. Alternatively, the skills and knowledge required for the role are acquired through lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience, or intensive specialist experience. Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation especially the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, the codes of tendering and appropriate Australian industry standards and their application. A knowledge of sections 108 and 109 of the Local Government Act 2020 would be considered advantageous. Extensive knowledge of the tendering process, legislative requirements, the formation of tender and contract documentation and the development of specifications. Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees and strong project management skills and experience.
