Coordinator and Facilitator, Men's Behaviour Change Posted: 16/01/2025 Closing Date: 13/02/2025 Job Type: Contract - Full Time Location: Bunbury Job Category: Services Join a values driven, life friendly organisation 2-year, part time opportunity based in Bunbury Enjoy training and development opportunities Job Description The Men's Behaviour Change program is dedicated to addressing family and domestic violence (FDV) by providing comprehensive, culturally responsive, and evidence-based interventions for men who choose to use violent and abusive behaviours in a family setting. This is where you come in… The Counsellor and Facilitator is responsible for providing comprehensive support to perpetrators of FDV through assessment, individual intervention and group work, using both the traditional behaviour change model and ‘Caring Dads.' Providing direct line management and supervision to a Co-Facilitator and Victim Engagement Worker, you'll have the opportunity to lead and inspire, ensuring the delivery of a person-centred, high-quality service. Strong relationship building skills are essential, as you will act as the primary contact for relevant stakeholders, engaging with staff members, organisation and the wider community. This is a full time, maximum term contract for 2 years and is based in Bunbury. Candidates must be willing and available for twice weekly evening group sessions. Desired Skills and Experience To achieve success in this role you will have: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or Counselling and significant industry experience with specialist knowledge relevant to the position Skills and experience in group facilitation Knowledge of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people and communities. Working knowledge and ability to work with current state/federal minimum standards when working with victims and perpetrators. Knowledge and experience of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators, such as the Duluth Abuse Intervention Program, David Mandel’s Safe and Together Model, amongst others Experience working in culturally safe and responsive ways with clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgrounds Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication Excellent assessment and clinical report writing skills Knowledge of current theory, practice and issues related to family and domestic violence and trauma and impact on families The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
