The Corporate Affairs Senior Consultant role develops and implements corporate communications strategies that strengthen and protect the Bank Australia brand, and support stakeholder connection to our purpose, aspiration, values, and responsible banking activity. The Corporate Affairs Senior Consultant also plays a key role in supporting the bank’s issues and reputation risk management activity. The role will work with business units and senior leaders across the bank to provide corporate communications advice, planning, and delivery of best practice of communication activity. The role is also responsible for managing short and medium term projects, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that contribute to the bank’s thought leadership position and strengthen the brand. We currently have a full time, fixed-term opportunity until the 1 December 2025. This role will be based in our new, state-of-the-art Collingwood Head Office. What you will be doing In conjunction with the Corporate Affairs Manager develop and deliver corporate communications strategies and advice to protect and build the bank’s brand. Develop strategies to leverage the bank’s brand, investments and positions through stakeholder, customer and staff communication. Provide communications advice to the business on current and emerging issues to protect and build Bank Australia’s reputation, and support to the bank’s leadership respond to brand and reputation risks. Support crisis communications and business continuity plan activities, in particular reputation issues monitoring and response activities. Respond to media enquiries and provide advice and support to the bank’s authorised spokespeople on media engagement. Establish and maintain relevant internal and external stakeholder relationships, including on key responsible banking policy positions. Engage with identified stakeholders as part of developing and implementing communications plans and activity. Develop communication plans that support the delivery of Bank Australia’s purpose, corporate strategy, business changes, key projects and partnerships. Lead communications planning and delivery on key business changes and major projects in collaboration with relevant business units. Support the development of brand-led advocacy opportunities to promote the bank’s clean money positioning. Oversee and develop creative content for internal and external communications channels. Manage short, medium and long term communications projects in accordance with agreed project management methodology to meet time and budget requirements. What you will bring Corporate experience in corporate communications, issues management, internal communications, stakeholder relations, or relevant field Highly developed communications planning, writing and execution skills Demonstrated interest in advocacy, and social and environmental issues in a business context Well developed influencing and relationship management skills Experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder networks Well developed research and problem solving skills Important: Well developed understanding of corporate communications Experience in issues and crisis management practice in a corporate reputation context Experience communicating with and building a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders Experience in developing communications plans and strategies for priority business projects Project management skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects Commitment to Bank Australia’s purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.
