ABOUT THIS ROLE As Corporate Counsel Audible APAC, you will be a member of the Audible Legal and the global Amazon Global Entertainment legal team, and support the Audible content development, licensing and distribution in the APAC region (excluding Japan) and other initiatives impacting Audible in the APAC region. This role will be located in our Sydney office. As Corporate Counsel, Audible APAC, you will: Structure, draft, and negotiate licensing, distribution, production, marketing, and other commercial agreements. Support the development and production of original content, and provide counsel on production and post-production related matters. Provide ongoing legal counsel across a range of fields, including intellectual property, marketing review, consumer affairs and regulatory compliance. Support international expansion matters and other projects. Provide compliance training to the business teams. Some travel may be required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction (AU, UK, US, etc.). 5+ years attorney experience in content development, production and marketing, including drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience working with a studio, production company, or an entertainment and media law firm, and must have extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating entertainment contracts. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong legal and business judgment. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, together with proficiency in local territory language. Experience structuring, drafting, negotiating, and closing a broad range of commercial contracts. Ability to analyze and assess business processes, spot issues and propose/implement solutions. Ability to function autonomously yet communicate laterally and upwardly with ease.
