Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence Recruiting 3 x Counsellors Sexual Violence Counsellor/Advocate Domestic Violence Counsellor/Advocate Intake, Assessment & Brief Intervention Counsellor/Advocate Our Client The vision of Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence Inc. is to create safe communities free from sexual, domestic and family violence. We have partnered with this prominent agency in their search for three extraordinary Counsellors to join their team on the Gold Coast. The Centre specializes in providing support and counselling to women, young women and older women who have experienced sexual and/or domestic violence. About the Roles All roles are part-time, working across a 4-day week for 32 hours, which includes one late night shift a week (3 days working 9:00am – 5:00pm; 1 day working 11:30am – 7:30pm). In these roles, you will provide a range of support, counselling and advocacy services focused on safety and delivered within a feminist framework. To be successful it is a requirement that applicants meet all the selection criteria: KSC 1: Have completed a recognised degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or behavioural sciences. KSC 2: Have a minimum of one year’s experience in a specialist Sexual/Domestic Violence and/or trauma service. KSC 3: Can articulate a comprehensive feminist analysis of sexual and domestic violence and an understanding of trauma and its impacts. KSC 4: Can demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and show initiative whilst continuing to operate effectively as part of a team. KSC 5: Have an understanding of Queensland legislation pertaining to violence against women, or the ability to rapidly acquire the required knowledge. KSC 6: Can demonstrate highly developed communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous Australians and people from other cultural and linguistic backgrounds. KSC 7: Have a current Blue Card and a clear Police Check.
