The Employer :Situated on the Oxley Highway in the Gilgandra and Warren Shires, our client's enterprise spans 2400ha hectares and encompasses a diverse mix of winter crops with some livestock. The cropping portfolio includes wheat, canola, chickpeas, barley, and grazing crops. Our client is committed to modernisation and efficiency, which is evident in their well-maintained machinery and superior grain storage infrastructure. The livestock operation includes Merino ewes, prime lambs, small cow herd, and trade/agistment cattle.The Role: This unique opportunity allows an experienced hands-on operations manager to join this successful team near Collie in Central NSW. With a high level of autonomy, this role is suited for individuals well-versed in cropping and machinery operation and maintenance with a proven ability to implement and execute the cropping plan.As Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include contributing to the annual cropping plan, determining the timing and scope of major farming activities, repairing and maintaining plant and equipment, operating all farm equipment, including modern disc seeding equipment and a self-propelled spray rig, identifying and assisting in cap-ex projects, and participating in setting strategic priorities for the business.In addition to these strategic tasks, your day-to-day duties will involve:Operating plant and equipment for crop production phases Performing service, maintenance, and repairs of farm machinery Problem-solving and troubleshooting breakdowns Maintaining service records on machinery and setting overhaul priorities Implementing the annual cropping plan and maintaining paddock records Monitoring inventory and restocking supplies, parts, and tools as needed Participating in seasonal livestock operations and animal husbandry Monitoring pasture and livestock conditions and activities Conducting routine maintenance of fencing, water infrastructure, and farm buildings This role offers a stimulating and rewarding opportunity for someone eager to contribute to the dynamic operations of an agricultural enterprise while actively participating in its growth and development.The Offer There is an attractive remuneration package including a work ute to be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their skills and experience.The Ideal Candidate The right attitude is key for this role; hence, someone who is successful in working in a team environment is paramount.
