Provide vital financial counselling to culturally diverse communities. Support CALD clients with debt management and financial education. Join a statewide service delivering culturally responsive care. Provide financial counselling and support to culturally diverse communities, addressing gambling-related issues and promoting financial well-being. Employment Type: Temporary Part Time (Up to 30 / 06 / 2026) Position Classification: Counsellor Level 1, Counsellor Level 2, Psychologist, Social Worker Level 1 & Social Worker Level 2 Remuneration: Dependent on Qualifications Hours Per Week: 32 (Job Share will be considered for part-time hours) Location: Cumberland Hospital, North Parramatta Where you'll be working: State-wide specialist service for culturally diverse communities. Collaborating with GambleAware Providers across NSW. Delivering face-to-face, telephone, and online counseling. Advocating for clients with financial institutions and support services. What you'll be doing: Providing financial counseling to clients from culturally diverse backgrounds. Assisting clients in managing debts and improving budgeting skills. Advocating with financial institutions on behalf of clients. Developing culturally responsive financial education materials and initiatives. Qualification: Degree qualification in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work in addition to a diploma of Financial Counselling. Registration: Current membership with FCAN. Selection Criteria: Accreditation in financial counselling and registration with the responsible regulatory body (FCAN). Demonstrated experience and theoretical knowledge of working as a financial counsellor, in a variety of settings, for example individuals, couples, families, and groups impacted by addiction. Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention. Knowledge and application of legislation and regulations relating to gambling and debt recovery and a wide range of networks and services to assist individuals and families with health and welfare concerns. Demonstrated experience in working with clients in another language and / or with an interpreter and sensitivity to the needs of people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Comprehensive computer skills including word processing and use of databases. Current Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
