Aus Citizens only: No PR, No Work Visa RFQ closing date: Friday, 31 January 2025 Client: Australian Electoral Commission Estimated start date: Monday, 31 March 2025 Initial contract duration: To 31 December 2025 Extension term details: Up to a maximum of 24 months in addition to the initial contract term. Location of work: ACT Working arrangements: Onsite. Typical working arrangements are Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Shift work may also be required in response to cyber security incidents, and to support electoral events at key periods (e.g., close of rolls, polling day). This position requires an onsite presence at the AEC's national office in Canberra. Applicants wishing to work remotely will NOT be considered. Maximum hours: 40 hours per week Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 Job details Position: Cyber Security Analyst - Tier 2 Key duties and responsibilities Collection of cyber security related data for analysis, evaluation, and identification of the root of the attacks against the AEC ICT environment and key electoral systems. Implement required cyber security actions to counter attacks and restore system operations. Work together with the internal ICT team and business areas to communicate about security limitations and produce documentation or reports. Undertake cyber threat hunting exercises and provide threat intelligence to the entire team. Partake in mentoring and training as identified. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures related to cyber security incident response. Technical skills MANDATORY: Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essential. Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual. Familiarity with the best practice cyber security monitoring processes. Experience in cyber incident response. DESIRABLE: Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities. About The Organisation The purpose of the AEC is to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Each response is limited to 3000 characters.
