12-month initial day rate contract at a large nationally distributed federal government agency. Options to keep extending with great workplace flexibility. This leadership role can be based in either Melbourne or Canberra. Role The Senior Cyber Security Risk Assessor is responsible for: Leading and conducting security risk analysis of internal ICT systems and assessing the cyber threat, inherent vulnerabilities and the likelihood and consequences of adverse threat activity. Implementing best practice methodologies and risk management aligned with MITRE Att&ck Framework, NIST, ISO 31000/ISO 27001 and the PSPF. Developing system-specific security documentation including Statement of Applicability, System Security Plan, Security Risk Management Plan, Cyber Security Incident Response Plan, Continuous Monitoring Plan and Security Assessment Plan. Developing and managing Authority to Operate and managing security risks and controls uplift activities arising from cyber security risk analysis. Developing targeted security risk advice to prevent, detect and respond to cyber threat activity. Developing IT security standards, policy, procedures, and controls for managing risks in a dynamic threat environment. Requirements 5 years-plus experience in cyber security with significant knowledge of cyber security risk frameworks and their application in Government ICT systems - specifically MITRE Att&ck Framework, NIST, ISO 31000/ISO 27001 and the PSPF . High-level communication and ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security or related tertiary qualifications. CISM, CISSP certifications. Must be eligible to secure NV1 clearance , with STRONG preference for those with current Baseline or NV1.
