DATA PRIVACY AND GOVERNANCE LEAD Our client is a forward-thinking organization at the forefront of data-driven solutions. Our team is united by a passion for cutting-edge technology and a commitment to driving meaningful change in the data space.Responsibilities Data Governance Establish and lead the data governance framework, defining accountability and responsibility for data ownership and usage. Oversee the data lifecycle, including retention, archival, and disposal practices, ensuring full compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy standards. Develop and enforce best practice policies for data classification, quality, retention, and deletion. Promote the adoption of Privacy and Governance by Design principles across all stages of the data lifecycle. Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement data access controls and enforce governance policies. Data Privacy Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations (including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, LGPD). Monitor changes in global privacy laws and update compliance frameworks accordingly. Manage the use of privacy management tools, ensuring operational efficiency. Oversee processes for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) and ensure safeguards are in place. Conduct compliance reviews of third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure data protection obligations are met. Lead responses to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and privacy-related inquiries. Ensure all privacy controls are scalable, measurable, and aligned with organizational goals. Training & Awareness Design and deliver privacy and data governance training programs for employees and stakeholders. Foster a company-wide culture of compliance and awareness around privacy and responsible data use. Investigate and respond to data breaches, including reporting to regulators as required. Work with IT/security teams to proactively address data-related risks. Develop and manage a global privacy incident response plan. Manage regular audits and assessments of data privacy and governance practices. Provide leadership with comprehensive reports and updates on compliance metrics, risks, and incident responses. Required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, privacy, and compliance roles. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and other relevant standards. Proven experience in risk management and mitigating data-related risks at an organizational level. Experience with privacy management tools such as OneTrust or similar platforms. Demonstrated success in leading data governance and privacy initiatives. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making. Desirable Skills Certification in data governance or privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CDMP, DAMA). Understanding of enterprise risk management and incident response frameworks. #J-18808-Ljbffr
