You'll lead BAU operations, end-user support, and service enhancements while contributing to the strategic roadmap for research data technologies. Your responsibilities will include: Lead and Manage the Team: Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery. Develop and Implement Strategies: Assist in creating effective oversight and enhancement of data services, including research data management and storage platforms. Drive Innovation and Improvement: Pilot new tools and services, maintaining a continuous improvement plan for data services. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with researchers, university departments, and external partners to support research goals and initiatives. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced leader with expertise in system administration, scripting for automation, and a strong focus on improving usability and operational efficiency in research data management. You may also: Possess a postgraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Have excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of data management and storage technologies. Show strong leadership skills in motivating and inspiring teams. Your new team – Research Computing Services Research Computing Services (RCS) is a department within Business Services. RCS delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operate on-premise High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General-Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) computational platforms. RCS operate over 20 PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions.
