To continue our success, we seek a dealership accountant to oversee our accounting and administration team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be crucial in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining our reputation for excellence. About the role: Prepare and maintain precise financial records and reports for both dealerships. Assist the Financial Controller in budget management, forecasting, and financial analysis. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and dealership policies. Collaborate with various departments to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency. Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures. Support audits by providing necessary documentation. Compile and analyse monthly profit and loss statements. Ensure accurate accruals for expenses and timely preparation of financial statements. Reconcile accounts to uphold accounting principles and identify potential risks. Oversee key accounting functions, including bank reconciliation, stock control, creditors, and debtor management. Ensure compliance with federal and state taxes, including GST, LCT and Stamp Duty. Maintain fixed asset registers. Record, review and maintain Fringe Benefits Tax records. About you: Proven experience as a dealership accountant or in a similar financial role within the automotive sector. Relevant Tertiary qualifications that support the role. Strong grasp of dealership operations and financial processes. Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with great attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of dealership management systems (ERA) is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. A friendly and positive attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service.
