GL is an important part of Munich Re Group and enables primary insurance specialty business for Munich Re’s Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) and primary insurance opportunities that are connected to the core business of Munich Re reinsurance. In a global setup, the Great Lakes Australia (GLA) branch manages the Great Lakes business portfolio in Australia, with a focus on Delegated Authority (DA) business in cooperation with Australian MGAs. To support our growth ambition in the Australian MGA space, GLA is looking for an experienced Delegated Authority Manager that can adapt GL’s global operating model for managing DA outsourcings throughout the entire value chain and life cycle – and make it best-in-market value proposition for Australian MGAs. You will work in a matrix setup, reporting both to local Australian GLA management and management of central DA functions in Munich. About the Role Business management throughout the value chain and life cycle: Be the central coordinator of several functions that jointly manage the outsourcing relationship with MGAs throughout the value chain. Ensure and develop “facilitation excellence” during the entire life cycle of the DA business by managing the performance of agreements and monitoring the outsourcing partner’s KPIs. Decision making: Lead decision-making processes of the DA lifecycle steps (onboarding, oversight and steering, offboarding). Performance, underwriting and product: Be the central coordinator of several functions and the outsourcing partners in order to facilitate product and portfolio performance monitoring. Ensure underwriting performance KPI frameworks are implemented. Oversight & control of MGA outsourcing: Use the compliant oversight and control framework for outsourcing providers, ensuring ongoing control and mitigation of outsourcing risks on a global level within the 3 Lines of Defence model. Ensure due diligence/ quality assurance and comply with internal guidelines, considering external regulatory requirements. Ensure product design, wording and product approval processes meet APRA guidelines and follow internal processes. Risk, Compliance & Audit: Facilitate ongoing risk assessments between internal stakeholders to provide a holistic and updated overview and share information about outsourcing relationships. Ensure adherence to GL’s global outsourcing policy procedures. Manage audit recommendations closure by following up with all partners. Stakeholder management: Maintain professional relationships at an executive level towards outsourcing partners, Munich Re business units, internal stakeholders and across various committees. Client centricity: Promote client centricity within the DA business management team and deliver the DA value proposition, conducting negotiations with important internal and external clients. Strategy: Support the Head of GLA in projects aimed at the strategic development of GLA in the Australian market. About You 7 years+ experience in Delegated Authority/ MGA business. Excellent primary insurance experience, with background in distribution, business development and outsourcing governance; understanding of reinsurance advantageous. Good understanding of underwriting and product oversight. Wide network in the Australian insurance market, especially towards MGAs. Excellent skills in project management. Experience working with senior stakeholders and executives (e.g., Board, C-level). Customer-centric mindset in dealing with outsourcing partners.
