Job Description

We’re building Queensland’s future CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD. The CBGU JV will deliver the underground works of the project, including tunnelling, four new underground stations, an over-station development at Albert Street and an above ground retail plaza at Roma Street. As the Deputy Area Commissioning Manager, reporting to the Zone Commissioning Manager, your role will be to effectively project manage the testing and commissioning (T&C) of a station precinct to ensure its completion in accordance with project objectives; including: safety, profit, cost, quality & time. Education: Either a recognised degree in engineering discipline or other relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar) Member of Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust) desirable but not mandatory Experience: Experience in commissioning management of large complex systems such as metro train stations or other major infrastructure projects Manage teams across whole of project to deliver work, including self-performed and subcontractor teams. Demonstrated commercial focus / business acumen Strong at planning through full project life cycle Analytical and strategic thinking Problem solving Strong communication and influencing skills Safety: Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations;Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks; Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities. Core Requirements: Developing and reviewing T&C planning and monitoring progress to ensure all elements of the project are on schedule and within budget; taking corrective action as required. Chair readiness reviews with the package parties Organise resourcing to support the testing schedule Review, and where needed develop, test documentation to support the Integrated Testing and Commissioning activities Identify risk, opportunity and implement controls and mitigations as directed or approved by management team Input to cost and program reviews and updates where needed Prepare weekly and monthly reports to senior management and external stakeholders on Testing and commissioning performance At CBGU JV , we are committed to workplace diversity and to providing flexible work opportunities on our project.
