About the role: This newly created Deputy Crown Solicitor role is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing to the new strategic direction and business plan of Crown Law. This role reports to the newly appointed Crown Solicitor who is leading an exciting period of improvement and modernisation of an already high performing legal practice. You will work closely with other members of the leadership team, supported by Assistant Crown Solicitors and experienced lawyers and focus on: leading and directing lawyers, paralegals and support staff across a large insurance, risk and litigation practice; providing strategic, expert legal advice on mix of public liability, medical negligence, personal injuries, workers compensation and complex litigation matters; building and developing positive client relationships to support the delivery of high quality legal services; leading, and managing change within the team including implementing process and systems improvement to ensure high quality, bespoke client services; leading, developing and maintaining an existing high performance and continuous improvement culture that promotes the full potential of each team member; and driving innovation and modernisation within the legal function by introducing new strategies, technologies, and best practices. Skills/Experience: To be considered for this role you will have 10+ years' PAE in litigation and/or insurance litigation; an engaging, customer centric, solutions focussed, consultative approach with key clients; demonstrated successful leadership of a high performance legal team with a collaborative leadership style; experience implementing change and continuous improvement of systems and processes; the confidence and experience to advise and work closely with senior executives including Ministers, Director Generals and senior Government clients; and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement of legal service delivery.
