Job Description

The Role As part of your role you will be required to: Be accountable for leading a small mixed team of APS and Contractors, managing project crucial internal and external stakeholders while setting work area priorities, managing multiple projects, developing strategies, and evaluating business outcomes. Plan, lead, and report on the enabling services for the HCF project that ensures staff have access to the data, tools, processes, and systems they need to complete their roles. Provide daily advice on regular IT problems faced by project staff. Work with an Industry team member in a knowledge transfer period in learning the implementation and sustainment of the HCF Data Management System (DMS), ensuring alignment to the contract deliverables. Communicate progress and performance of the DMS with other EL1 and EL2’s within the project, ensuring that new and improved features are shared and that the DMS Working Group meeting has the right project representation for governing and assuring current work. Work with the Industry team member in learning to manage the access, training, and assessment of the ship 3D model used by the engineers. Work with the Industry team member in learning to update and maintain the three Microsoft Teams collaboration environments: internal SharePoint 2010, Microsoft 365 (VERA), and the VERA Standalone Remote Access – OFFICIAL SENSITIVE environment. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) will be one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting-edge technology and capabilities. As Australia’s largest shipbuilding project, HCF provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding in Australia. We are working with experts from the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy. The frigates are being constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia, utilising the latest production technologies. Knowledge in general IT Support tasks and problem-solving, including a strong knowledge and skills base in working in collaborative environments such as Microsoft 365. A leader within Project Management with the ability to manage complex stakeholder groups to ensure project schedule and budget are being adhered to.
