Deputy Director-General, Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance The Deputy Director-General for Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance (HPSP) provides a significant and impactful opportunity. The position requires providing strategic leadership to ensure that the purchasing of clinical activities and services aligns with the Department of Health's strategic objectives and achieves whole-of-system outcomes. Leading the Division, which will be the key conduit between the Department of Health and Hospital and Health Services, the role will be responsible for facilitating continuous improvement in the State's health system through strategic purchasing and performance management functions. Additionally, the role necessitates the establishment and maintenance of key relationships with senior clinical leaders, Hospital and Health Services, the private sector, and across jurisdictions. This collaborative approach is essential for driving improvements and ensuring the health system meets its overarching goals. The successful person will have We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who can demonstrate: Extensive experience in healthcare purchasing and performance management within a complex system. Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities. Proven ability to manage large-scale budgets and drive cost-effective solutions. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. A track record of delivering performance improvement in a healthcare setting. About the Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance Division Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance (HPSP) Division purchases public health and social services from service providers to optimise health gains, reduce inequalities, drive sustainability, and maximise our health system's efficiency and effectiveness. The Division works with service providers and other areas in the department to ensure health funding is used effectively to meet government priorities, deliver value to the consumer, and support the delivery of high quality, safe and sustainable health services. HPSP manages service agreements with the Hospital and Health Services as well as a number of contracts with private providers and Non-Government Organisations delivering health and social services on behalf of the government.
