Job Description

The Medical Imaging Service Manager helps lead the effective, safe, and efficient delivery of a multi-disciplinary medical imaging and cardiac measurement service within WMHHS. The position ensures the service's capability and capacity to meet demand efficiently, effectively, and safely. The position has operational and line management accountability for the Medical Imaging Service and Cardiac Sciences within Ipswich Hospital, including PACS. The position has oversight of Health Professionals, Nursing and Clinical Assistant personnel. The position aids in overseeing and monitoring aspects with regard to Radiation Safety, in particular maintaining adherence to the Radiation Safety Act 1999 and Radiation Safety Regulations 2010 for the WMHHS. The position will also act as the reference point both within, and outside, the WMHHS for relevant operational matters. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: High-level management skills with a large professional multi-disciplinary team including the ability to coordinate and manage multiple professions to meet performance requirements for a variety of clinical specialties and initiatives across multiple sites. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational management of a highly responsive service delivered by a large diverse team. General clinical knowledge and skills in contemporary clinical practice within Medical Imaging with a demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based principles to facilitate novel multidisciplinary clinical decisions. Proven ability to monitor, evaluate and modify service delivery utilising evidence-based methodologies in a rapidly changing and fast paced clinical environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and sustain productive partnerships with clients and stakeholders, and to work within and across multi-disciplinary teams. High level of interpersonal and communication skills evidenced through an ability to manage conflict (including ethical dilemmas) and influence key stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes. Ability to provide general clinical advice and education regarding professional standards and service development to diverse stakeholders and management. Proficiency and expertise in policy and procedure analysis, development, implementation and evaluation. Highly developed Human Resource management skills i.e. performance management, holding staff to account.
