Vocational Training Queensland (VTQ) VTQ is a registered training organisation (RTO) and was established by the Department of Education to provide access to flexible learning operations for at-risk youth under a not-for-profit model. The central idea was developing capacity in communities across Queensland to be able to ‘do school differently' for a complex-needs cohort. Many young people disengage from education for a variety of reasons, including complex life circumstances and difficulties in learning within existing education models. We provide education services to those who have the most difficulty in accessing the education they need to increase their options in life. To maintain the engagement of students across the year and address learning gaps, funding has been approved for education delivery over 48 weeks of the year. The employment entitlements for staff will not change; however, it does provide opportunities for flexible work agreements. Through negotiation with the Executive Principal, the successful applicant will determine whether a regular or alternative school holiday model is accessed. Oversee the operational synergies from coordinating educational timetabling and workforce scheduling. Deliver a strategic portfolio as an integral part of our QETC's leadership team.
