Deputy Secretary Housing, Building and Land Delivery The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) provides a valuable service to all Victorians by bringing together key planning, transport and land use policy decisions and management across the State. Through planning, building, connecting and sustaining communities DTP improves services, delivers sustainable projects, focuses on customer engagement, streamlines regulatory approval pathways, and facilitates community consultation delivering a more liveable and prosperous community across Victoria. Group The Housing, Building and Land Delivery Group is focused on developing vibrant, liveable and sustainable communities, affordable housing and quality jobs through the delivery and oversight of spatial planning and infrastructure co-ordination in key locations. The Group will drive urban growth by delivering zoned land for housing, jobs and infrastructure in State-led areas co-ordinating a pipeline of government-owned land for development and an improved building system. The Group also provides expert advice for exemplary design in Victoria’s public places and buildings, ensuring high-quality standards and long-term sustainability. Role The newly created role of Deputy Secretary Housing, Building and Land Delivery will lead reform and improve the planning, land use and building systems to create more homes and jobs for Victorians. Leading a large and diverse team, the Deputy Secretary will provide advice to the Secretary and Ministers, engage extensively with a wide range of stakeholders and government agencies to set the strategic direction, address complex issues and manage programs and functions, and drive reform and consistency across the department, its partners and agencies. The position will ensure the successful delivery of programs and services through the development of a positive culture and workforce planning, financial management and performance frameworks. Requirements This key role requires extensive leadership experience at the senior executive level within a large government department or complex organisation with a focus on land use and planning services. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in stakeholder engagement, program management and driving reforms. This will be complemented by experience in delivering integrated land use, transport and precinct development for sustainable urban growth. A relevant tertiary and post-graduate qualification will be highly regarded.
