The opportunity: We are on the lookout for a Design Assistant to join our Black Pepper Fashion Apparel team. This role reports directly to the Design Manager and is based in our Richmond Support Centre. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day correspondence with factories by addressing any relevant queries Manage the lap dip process for all fabrics Manage all print strike off requests Assist and support the design team in the end-to-end design process including CAD, design, trend and print support Experience in creating technical flat drawings for CADs and specifications Knowledge in textile and garment construction Responsible for management of sample sets across reference samples, salesman samples and photo samples Responsible for the management of marketing samples to support campaigns and e-commerce shoots General showroom and design sample distribution Product and administrative support to the design team Assist with the preparation and sending of parcels to China Check and sign off DHL invoices File proceeds and new trims/buttons/accessories Work closely with the designers to support the design and development of the Black Pepper range in keeping with brand image and option plan guidelines Assist with additional design projects as required Additional administrative duties as required to support the design team Update CADs accurately and in a timely manner The skills and experience you offer us: A formal qualification in Fashion Design (desirable) Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Work experience in a similar role at a similar level Attention to detail Accurate and efficient Complete work in required timeframe to meet deadlines Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and Microsoft Outlook Strong communication skills across all levels of organization Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks within set deadlines Show initiative and drive Team player with a can-do attitude Just some of the perks we offer you: Generous discounts for you and your family across Brand Collective's stable of brands!
