Job Description

Our Client is seeking an experienced Design Manager Lines and Substation to lead a new network Infrastructure Project. The project will include transmission lines and energy hubs, and enabling infrastructure which will transfer power generated by solar and wind farms to electricity consumers. Three Design Managers are to support this leading project in carrying out their responsibilities: One Design Manager is focused on road upgrades, geotechnical, land surveys, models and related works. Road upgrades is a large component of the project. One Design Manager is focused on line and substation designs. One Design Manager is focused on constructability, civil, operation and maintenance (O&M), and utilities. All Design Managers ensure design reviews are conducted in accordance with the Technical Requirements and design reviews are appropriately work flowed to delegated reviewers and approvers on time. All Design Managers will support and oversee subcontractors and technical service providers, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements. Role Job Title: Design Manager Lines and SubstationsPay Rate: $130-$150/hr + superLocation: Our client has two offices available for project team members, one located in Sydney CBD and one located in Armidale NSW. To be part of the integrated project team, nominated Key Personnel must be available to work from both offices on an as needed basis.Contract: Initial 1 Year with high possibility of extension Role requirements Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience on major linear infrastructure projects. Experience on major greenfield infrastructure projects ($2bn+). Technical experience in the renewable energy sector and transmission projects. Experience of design and engineering of substations and transmission lines, ensuring they meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Experience in the government sector. Understanding of the technical environment applicable to NE REZ. Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to NE REZ expectations. Support the review of Network Operator (NO) and generator and storage designs, engineering and equipment specifications in accordance with the Technical Requirements. Support the NE REZ project team and wider EnergyCo team in developing approaches for technical NE REZ matters, including connection processes, system strength determination, and physical connection arrangement. Effective and timely communication with decision-makers and stakeholders relating to NE REZ.
