The region offers a relaxed lifestyle with an enviable sub-tropical climate and it is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. This diverse and hands-on role requires taking ownership of all aspects of a capital project - from concept, design and the development of capital expenditure proposals, including costings - right through to providing technical support to an internal engineering team supported by external contractors engaged in the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment. Producing accurate engineering drawings in accordance with Australian standards and regulations as well as managing and updating the site engineering drawing register also forms an important part of the role. Key Position Requirements: Proven experience undertaking a Mechanical Engineering role associated with the development and implementation of capital projects for a heavy manufacturing or similar operation. Demonstrated ability to undertake project engineering tasks associated with all aspects of a capital project - from the design and feasibility phase, through to the provision of technical support during the installation and commissioning phase. Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to adapt and respond to changing project schedules and requirements. Demonstrated and current working knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards associated with the engineering and construction fields, including in relation to Workplace Health & Safety. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders engaged in projects and the ability to prepare and present a wide range of reports and documentation. A high level of computer literacy, and in particular in the use of Computer Aided Drafting Software (CAD and/or Inventor), including for 3D modelling, Project Management software and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Relevant qualifications associated with the Project & Design Engineering fields, which may include either Degree and/or Diploma and/or post trade level qualifications.
