Design and Development Assistant - Swim and Resort As one of Australia's leading and most respected fashion designer brands, we are excited to share that ZIMMERMANN has an exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic Design and Development Assistant to join our Swim and Resort Design Team. You will contribute to and support the delivery of each Swim and Resort Womenswear collection in line with the Creative Director's seasonal vision. Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Research ideas, source reference material and present design details. Produce technical drawings for garment tech guidance and production use. Complete technical sketches and splicing CADs for pattern maker and production use, ensure technical sketches are correct in proportion and detail and splicing CADs follow fabric and trim codes accurately. Update and maintain the digital design board and physical boards for Creative Director. Participate in print manipulation & artwork placement in Design Director’s sketches for design boards. Perform any task related to the development and production of the samples ranges for press and sales. Participate in quality control of all salesman samples, prepare sample range presentation for distribution to sales and press agents, and monitor sample collections to Zimmermann standards prior to dispatch. Track the design progress to ensure timely execution of Design Calendar. Desired skills and expertise: Ideally have completed a degree or tertiary course in Fashion and previous experience working in a similar environment. Strong illustration and technical drawing abilities. Be exceptionally well organized and methodical. Be able to combine both creative and technical skills. Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Details oriented with good technical garment and fabric knowledge especially for Trim, Stitch and Wash. Strong graphic design skills including advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills. Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
