About the Mental Health division The Mental Health division is committed to promoting the highest levels of mental health care for our patients. In realising this goal, the division leads and excels in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The division provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care. About the role As the Dietitian, you will be an integral member of the Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) – Eating Disorders Program multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical assessment and treatment to children and young people with eating disorders (aged 0-25 years) and their families who are referred to Austin Health’s ICYMHS. A regular day will see you: Work closely with the Specialist Eating Disorder Service (SEDS) and the community teams and bed-based services. Provide clinical eating disorder dietetic assessment, meal and treatment planning, and supporting families involved in treatment within both clinic and outreach settings. Support consumers to access mental health services and other relevant community resources to assist in their ongoing treatment and recovery. Play a key role in participating and contributing to group and education opportunities of the eating disorder program, including psycho-education sessions and family work. Some capacity to provide dietetic support to other services across mental health. Close collaborative working relationships within SEDS, plus all ICYMHS programs including Lived and Living Experienced Workforce (LLEW). About you To be successful in this role, you will bring with you: Demonstrated clinical expertise in working with children and adolescents with an eating disorder and paediatric nutrition. A deep understanding of recovery-focused care in eating disorders and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision as part of your role. Highly effective communication skills and the ability to engage with staff capacity building their skills and knowledge in eating disorders.
