Digital Strategy Director - Public Sector Job ID: 2025-96710 As a Digital Strategy Director focused on the Public Sector in our Strategy and Consulting practice, you will lead the development of innovative technology and digital strategies to improve public sector service delivery and ultimately citizen and community outcomes; and to lead our Public Sector clients through digital change. You will bring the required expertise and vision, and lead multidisciplinary teams, to shape our client’s business led technology transformation agendas. The scope of this role is across federal and state government within Australia, working with large departments and portfolio agencies. You will work on a broad range of projects including the development of digital & technology strategy, architecture, operating models, technology product evaluation & selection and roadmap & business case development. You will also work closely with our experience, engineering, product and delivery teams to shape and plan the implementation of digital solutions to enable our client’s vision. Responsibilities Lead multiple project teams, taking ambiguous and complex problems and using direct engagement, research, and business analysis to define technology opportunities and recommend actionable next steps. Understand our client’s drivers & strategies to develop appropriate and meaningful technology strategies. Bring rigour to a client’s decision-making process by presenting and evaluating solution options, and seeking consensus among key team members and stakeholders. Lead go-to-market activities and the end-to-end development of client proposals. Provide mentoring and leadership to other members of the Strategy & Consulting team. Play a pivotal role in attracting and hiring new talent to grow the Strategy & Consulting practice. Qualifications Above all you are a smart, curious and driven individual with exceptional problem-solving, analysis skills, and attention to details. You have a positive attitude, experience in collaborative work environments, and are comfortable embracing change. Minimum of 10 years of relevant consulting experience to the public sector with a strong focus on digital & technology, and time also spent working within the sector. Experience building strong relationships with key technology and digital leaders (CTO, CIO, CDO, Deputy Secretary’s), establishing credibility and trust through exceptional delivery capability. Experience developing digital & technology strategies underpinning business transformation for clients, and/or leading digital & technology transformation programs of work in the public sector. A deep understanding of public sector policy, program, governance and decision making to ensure that all our strategy advice and solutions are implementable and have the greatest possible impact. Knowledge of core public sector technology ecosystems and platforms across state and federal government. Knowledge of modern architectural practices & designs. You are fluent in English with outstanding client-facing capabilities, verbal and written communication skills, as well as numerical and presentation skills. High level of competence in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to deliver client deliverables of utmost quality. Understanding of design thinking, customer journeys, service design and customer experience approaches.
