About us The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians. Branch The Central Partnership Team has been established to support implementation work of the Economic Growth Statement and the initiative to halve the number of business regulators in Victoria announced on 10 December 2024. The team is responsible for undertaking a multi-year, significant regulatory reform program partnering with multiple departments and regulators. The work of the Central Partnership Team also supports and is supported by the whole of Victorian Government regulatory reform program. About the role The Director, Central Partnership Team is responsible for leading delivery of a significant body of work outlined in the Economic Growth Statement. The Director oversees the team that will collaborate with departments and regulators across the Victorian Government on implementation of regulatory reforms to consolidate the number of Victorian business-focused regulators. The Director is also part of the leadership team of DTF's Economic Group, which supports the Government in growing employment, material living standards and economic activity. In the role you will be responsible for: Provide high-quality authoritative and comprehensive advice to Government and senior management on a range of complex regulatory issues; Draw on expertise to apply economic and other relevant frameworks to public policy issues, and apply a strong understanding of government processes to influence outcomes in line with the department's objectives Identify and actively manage risks associated with the evolving policy landscape and with specific policy proposals and processes; and Build and maintain effective relationships within the Department of Treasury and Finance. Develop strategic and influential relationships with other government agencies, Ministerial offices and external stakeholders. About you We are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in: Proven experience in managing a portfolio of responsibilities and strategic projects to achieve organisational goals; Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to build consensus and foster effective working relationships with senior stakeholders; Ability to manage a proactive work agenda, showing policy leadership and influencing policy outcomes across government; Ability to provide creative and practical advice to solve problems in a dynamic and complex environment; and Proven leadership abilities, including to build a positive team culture, align teams with organisational values and goals, and effectively manage team members. Experience and qualifications A strong background in providing advice to senior decision-makers; Experience in implementing strategic initiatives in a complex policy, economic and financial environment to achieve outcomes consistent with government policy and/or business objectives; Experience leading a team and working as part of a senior management group; and Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or field.
