Permanent/ongoing full-time role available Sydney, Parramatta or Nowra location encouraged with flexible working supported TRP from $210k to $234k including superannuation, commensurate with experience Are you passionate about driving performance and improvement within the local government sector to help the NSW Government build stronger, more capable councils? Do you want to make a real difference in how councils operate and perform? We have an exciting opportunity for a Director Delivery and Performance to join the Office of Local Government. The Office of Local Government has recently restructured to be sharper in its focus on how it can improve the development of the sector, while also strengthening its performance. These changes are part of making the Office of Local Government a more effective regulator of councils. As the Director Delivery and Performance, you will lead a significant program focused on improving the operations, performance, and reporting of local governments across NSW. This will include identifying areas for improvement, enhancing program delivery, and ensuring local councils align with the strategic priorities of the NSW Government. A key aspect of this role will be developing and implementing a performance monitoring framework, including risk-based indicators, early intervention strategies, and performance goals, to ensure that councils meet performance standards and legislative compliance. You will also oversee a range of local government grant programs, including grants to councils, and be accountable for developing and implementing frameworks and policies for the effective management and administration of these programs. About You To be successful in this role, you will have strong program management skills with proven experience in managing complex programs, including performance monitoring, risk management and reporting. You will also possess an in-depth knowledge of the Local Government sector, including its operating environment and governing legislation. The key to your success will be your excellent communication skills coupled with your ability to engage, influence and educate diverse stakeholders. You will also be a people-focused leader with a passion for providing direction, mentorship and support to build high-performing teams. It is essential that you are a strategic thinker and have strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
