Director Ethics & Compliance Job no: 540701Work type: Ongoing full-timeLocation: ParramattaCategories: Audit, Continuous Improvement, Quality Management, Investigation, LegislationExciting and challenging opportunity to lead an Ethics and Compliance Branch within NSW Government Permanent full-time role based in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available TRP starting from $217K including superannuation, commensurate with experience Our Governance Division within Strategic Services and Advice is seeking a fulltime ongoing Director Ethics and Compliance to join their high performing team.The Director Ethics and Compliance is the designated Public Interest Disclosure Coordinator for the Department and leads the Ethics and Compliance Branch, with responsibility for the implementation of strategies and processes to assess, manage and investigate allegations of wrongdoing. The role involves overseeing the management of compliance and providing advice to the Secretary and Executive Leadership Teams on emerging reputational risks and accountability of these functions.The role will provide leadership and strategic management of all integrity and conduct related complaints and investigations, for the Department and its network agencies. The Director has responsibility for the implementation of strategies to ensure the Department and network agencies have robust governance frameworks to ensure compliance with departmental legislative requirements and to manage integrity and conduct matters.About you You will be managing workplace investigations, and these matters may be subject of scrutiny in Parliament and the media. Strong intellectual and analytical skills are required. The ability to work autonomously and make sound evidence-based decisions is essential and ensure Executives are kept abreast of critical information.You are an excellent communicator, and a considered thinker with strong investigative skills. Your ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the NSW Ombudsman and ICAC will be crucial to your success.A collaborative leader, you will provide clear direction to a team of high performing professionals, whilst working with the Executive Director and General Counsel - Deputy Secretary to make well informed decisions. You will be able to prepare and present high quality informative reports to the Audit and Risk Committee, Executive Leadership Committee and external agencies.Your ability to work with your peers on cross divisional deliverables in a collaborative manner is essential.
