Principal @ JMES - Debt Specialist (PF, LAF, Capital Markets, Private Debt, Risk & Advisory) Director, Financial Markets Sales Global Banking Group Financial Markets / Fixed Income Financial Institutions focus Our client is a leading global bank with strong Global Banking and Financial Markets platforms across the US, Europe, Asia and a long-term platform in Australia. As part of their sustained growth story, they are now seeking an experienced and dynamic markets sales professional to assist driving the growth of their Financial Markets division in Australia. Based in Sydney and reporting to the Head of Financial Markets, this senior role is critical in building and expanding relationships with a diverse institutional client base, including banks, asset managers, superannuation funds, insurers, and non-bank financial institutions. You will play a key role in originating and marketing derivatives and strategic financing solutions while leading complex finance-linked and event-driven transactions across the Australian financial landscape. This position requires a commercially driven professional with a strong understanding of OTC derivatives, structured credit, and finance-linked solutions, including collateral switch, repo, reverse repo, equity, and collateral-based finance structures. A deep familiarity with cross-currency basis swaps for yield enhancement and risk management strategies will also be highly valuable. Working closely with colleagues across onshore and offshore Financial Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Securitisation teams, you will be instrumental in identifying opportunities, developing tailored client solutions, and driving revenue growth across the firm's global product suite. Success in this position will be underpinned by an ability to leverage existing client relationships, while identifying and developing new business opportunities. You will bring 10+ years of experience in Financial Markets sales, with a proven track record of managing and growing institutional client relationships across Aust/NZ. With an entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach, your ability to navigate regulatory developments and market trends will be critical. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are key, as this role involves extensive collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including local and international stakeholders.
