Overview: Director, Financial Planning & Analysis Lead financial strategy in a purpose-driven, complex organisation. Make an impact at the executive level in a global university. Continuing executive level appointment. About the Role This is a unique opportunity for a senior finance leader to apply commercial expertise in a complex, for-purpose organisation. Reporting to the CFO within the Operations Portfolio, as the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will lead financial planning, budgeting, and business partnering to support strategic planning and operational decision making across the university. You will partner with the University Executive and governance leaders to ensure financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. This role will appeal to leaders who thrive on influencing key decision-makers, leading high-performing teams, and driving financial strategy at scale. Key Priorities Lead financial planning and analysis, ensuring resource allocation aligns with RMIT’s long-term vision. Deliver commercial insights that enable strategic decision-making for major university-wide initiatives. Strengthen business partnering capabilities, engaging with key leaders to drive financial accountability and performance. Shape and implement RMIT’s investment strategy, balancing financial sustainability with future growth. Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. About You You are a senior finance leader with extensive experience in financial planning, strategy, and business partnering in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. You bring: Proven success in leading financial strategy and investment planning. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work at executive and board level. A commercial mindset, with the ability to apply private-sector best practices to a for-purpose organisation. Experience leading high-performing teams and fostering a culture of financial excellence. A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in financial decision-making.
