Position Profile We are seeking a Director Medical Technology Management Unit to provide contemporary, values-driven leadership and strategic direction for our team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply transformational leadership and strong general management skills in driving service innovation, embedding sustainable improvements, and championing best practices in reliability engineering and preventative maintenance. Reporting to the Chief Digital Health Officer, you will leverage the skills of your team across asset lifecycle management, reliability and performance, quality assurance, service planning, and vendor management. You will apply data-driven decision-making to minimise equipment downtime and ensure continuity of a broad range (24,000 plus) of medical equipment, technologies, and instrumentation ensuring they remain safe, functional, and efficient, and enable clinical excellence. Valued at over $107 million, across 167 sites, equipment ranges from digital thermometers and blood pressure monitors through to advanced medical equipment. Your ability to engage with digital health, clinical teams, technical and executive teams across CAHS to align technology with operational needs, and solve complex problems across business and technical domains will be key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Operations – Develop and execute a medical technology asset management strategy, ensuring service continuity and regulatory compliance. Reliability Engineering & Asset Optimisation – Implement condition monitoring, performance analytics, and risk assessments to ensure high availability of critical medical equipment. Preventative & Planned Maintenance – Oversee structured maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime, enhance safety, and extend asset life. Technology & Equipment Lifecycle Management – Guide the acquisition, commissioning, and disposal of biomedical equipment, aligning with organisational priorities. Clinical Engineering & Digital Integration – Lead the evaluation, innovation, and integration of new technologies to improve patient care and workforce efficiency. Training & Education – Mentor technical staff, build capabilities, and support ongoing professional development. Service Continuity & Risk Mitigation – Address key risks, including overdue preventative maintenance and end-of-life equipment, ensuring seamless service delivery. We are looking for a hands-on, results-driven leader, with proven experience in medical technology management, clinical engineering, or biomedical services within a complex healthcare setting. A deep understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance strategies, ensuring compliance with safety standards will be essential. Why Join Us?
