An exciting senior executive opportunity to lead the Planning Evidence Centre and provide high-quality data, analysis and insights to guide decisions on land use, housing, infrastructure and planning outcomes across NSW. The role As the Director of the Planning Evidence Centre, you'll lead a centre of excellence that drives evidence-based insights for strategic planning and policy development across NSW. By managing data analysis, economic forecasting, and innovative digital tools, you’ll ensure that housing, population, and infrastructure decisions are supported by robust evidence. Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders will be key to delivering timely, high-quality advice that informs whole-of-government priorities. The role requires balancing multiple high-pressure projects, navigating diverse stakeholder needs, and presenting complex data in accessible ways. You’ll tackle emerging challenges in a dynamic environment, all while fostering innovation and maintaining high standards in research and analysis to shape the state’s future planning landscape. What you will bring to the role Expertise in development and application of quantitative and qualitative techniques for research, forecasting and economic analysis, and in the use of statistical packages. Significant knowledge of the workings of government and in-depth knowledge and experience working with applicable legislation and regulations. Significant experience at a senior executive level managing large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives. Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals. Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in. What is an essential requirement: Tertiary qualifications in economics, statistics, planning, or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
