The Australian Government provides approximately $30 billion for government and non-government schools and $21 billion to higher education providers annually.The Education Funding System (EFS) project is developing a new funding system to ensure the government continues to make accurate payments on time, to provide a streamlined experience in a more secure environment, and to reduce the existing administrative burden for schools and higher education providers.As a Director on the project, you will hold an important leadership role within the Education Funding System and Digital Services Division to successfully guide implementation. You will lead support to the Senior Responsible Officer and Program Manager in project planning, internal and external reporting, risks and issue management, in line with departmental and whole of government processes. The role will entail significant stakeholder engagement with the project supplier, and you will provide support for the EFS project board and other governance functions including gateway review processes. The key duties of the position include: In this role, you will be responsible for managing the EFS project office functions to achieve project delivery, in alignment with the department’s project management framework. This includes: Managing project scope, issues, and risk ensuring effective change management control. Timely maintenance of project artefacts including project plans and schedules. Accurate and timely internal and external reporting. Secretariat support of project governance meetings including the EFS project board. Manage whole of government processes, including support of Gateway Reviews. Close liaison with the lead supplier to enable effective project and governance processes. Oversee and manage vendor delivery components according to executed work orders, if required. Provide leadership to a team of APS and contracted staff.
