Join our team in this temporary Director role within our Supporting Volunteers business unit! An exciting opportunity is available for a Director to lead the Supporting Volunteers team. This team leads strategic and coordinated delivery of Volunteering Policy, including addressing the findings of a Parliamentary Inquiry into supporting Volunteers in Queensland. The Role: The Supporting Volunteers business unit is excited to share an incredible opportunity for a Director to join the team on a temporary basis. As the Director, the role will involve complex stakeholder management and partnerships. You will lead a team focused on developing policy in response to the outcomes of the Parliament Inquiry into volunteers in Queensland. You will drive strategic changes based on the Inquiry's recommendations, working to implement innovative solutions that strengthen and support the volunteer sector across the state. Your efforts will ensure the delivery of positive outcomes, boost community engagement, and support the growth and long-term success of volunteering in Queensland. Your initial focus will include: Lead a team in the development of policy and program proposals driving strategic and coordinated responses and innovative solutions to support volunteers across Queensland. Prepare high quality policy papers, briefs, reports, including cabinet submissions and other significant policy and project management papers on departmental priorities and strategic initiatives. Develop and maintain productive partnerships with a complex range of stakeholders. Represent the department at a senior level as required, including on interdepartmental and intergovernmental meetings. Provide strategic expert advice to the Executive Director, Deputy Director-General, Water Infrastructure and Partnerships, Director-General, and Minister on a range of departmental and whole-of-government strategic initiatives. Builds genuine relationships with staff and stakeholders. While there are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, previous leadership level experience will be considered an asset.
