Job Description
Senior Professional Officer 1 (Remuneration Package Range $150,554 - $167,990) Species Management, Flora and Fauna Division Ongoing vacancy available in Alice Springs or Darwin This vacancy may be available in either Alice Springs or Darwin subject to negotiation with the successful applicant. As the Director Species Management, you will lead threatened species programs for the Northern Territory Government and support the strategic leadership of the Species Management Unit. Your key duties involve: Managing the threatened species programs to inform evidence-based management and meet relevant regulatory requirements. Implementing systems for the effective assessment and documentation of the conservation status of Northern Territory plants and animals. Undertaking effective engagement with diverse stakeholders to support the conservation of threatened species. Maintaining strategic partnerships and ensuring a safe and positive workplace culture and environment through effective workforce management and capability development. To be successful, you need: Highly developed knowledge of, and experience with, conservation biology or wildlife management programs. Experience in maintaining partnerships and communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including industry, Aboriginal landowners, and government agencies. Demonstrated ability in project management and applied research. Tertiary qualifications in conservation biology/natural resource management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
