The role will further influence and lead cultural change by building capacity and capability in organisations to be child-safe in line with the Child Safe Standards and the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023. Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. Duties As a director within the leadership team of the Office of the Independent Regulator (the Office), the position will be expected to provide strategic direction and technical leadership and support the Independent Regulator in driving a culture of high performance and continuous improvement to fulfil statutory obligations, as well as manage a multi-disciplinary team. The development of a communication strategy for the Office and preparation of advice and strategy to address emerging stakeholder issues. Lead the development of a Community of Practice related to Child Safe Standards across the Tasmanian community. High level engagement and communication with government and non-government stakeholders with regard to the functions of the Office, organisational compliance of child related organisations with the Child and Youth Safe organisations Framework, the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme. Oversee the development and management of various education activities and presentations on the operations of the Office that includes website and communication materials. Provide specialised advice to the Independent Regulator regarding effective engagement techniques and practices designed to target stakeholders and members of the public. Develop, maintain, and implement qualitative and quantitative measures to evaluate the effectiveness of activities that engage with stakeholders and the wider community. Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant award and in accordance with the skills, competence and training of the occupant as required. Assist the Independent Regulator and their Deputies in their fulfilment of their responsibilities pursuant to the following legislation:Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023 Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997 Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Act 2016 Youth Justice Act 1997 Right to Information Act 2009 Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022. A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
