Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Allied Health Professions for NHS Forth Valley. This is at a time when NHS Forth Valley is strengthening its AHP professional leadership infrastructure, during significant service transformation and reform in NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, innovative and driven Allied Health Professional with a track record of leadership at a senior level. Reporting to the Executive Nurse Director, the postholder will provide strategic direction and professional leadership to the Allied Health Professions within Forth Valley, ensuring AHPs make a significant contribution to the development and delivery of NHS Forth Valley corporate strategy and the safe delivery of care. This will be delivered alongside the governance arrangements for all AHP services in relation to professional workforce governance, clinical governance and assurance, and staff governance. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, working with a diverse range of staff and will work closely with senior colleagues across all health and social care settings. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide strong professional leadership for the range of AHP professions, providing professional direction and development. HCPC Registration is required, and education to Master’s level or equivalent experience is a requirement. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
