Role details The Women's and Children's Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Director of Nursing and Midwifery Operations to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Women's and Children's Services is part of the senior management team for operations at Mackay Base Hospital, and across the HHS for specified portfolios and programs. Role The role has accountability and responsibility for all staff across the Women's and Children's Service and ensures the provision of expansive clinical services and complex patient demographics across Mackay HHS. The role provides: Professional expertise and leadership for the overall planning, coordination and direction of evidence-based services within the portfolio of Operations Mackay and relevant HHS portfolios, to ensure safe, clinically effective, consumer-centred patient care for all clients of the Women's and Children's services. Responsible for the leadership and management of all staff reporting to the position. To lead the management team of the Service to facilitate quality patient outcomes in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service standards, professional standards and organisational policies and procedures. May have delegated responsibilities to support the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery role. About The Team Women's and Children's Services operates through a family-centred and children-friendly partnership framework. Currently, there is a framework for working in partnership with maternity consumers, our community and staff from all of our facilities to develop a contemporary women-centred model of maternity care. Our Women's and Children's Services operates a Co-Design philosophy, that involves working with the community and our staff to develop a contemporary women-centred model of maternity care and leading into the Children's Services. The Women's And Children's Services Offers The Following Comprehensive antenatal, birthing and post-birth care (Level 4) Gynaecology services Birth Centre model of care Midwifery Group Practice Neonatal services (Level 4) Specialist Gynaecology Services Child and Family Health Services Child and Adolescent Nursing Mackay Breast Screen Mackay Sexual Health Advisory Service Supported by the Administration services for Women's and Children's service.
