The Opportunity Lead our critical people functions that deliver strategic and operational HR services across CSIRO, Australia's National Science Agency. Ensure alignment and execution of organisational strategies through high-quality HR services and business partnerships. Shape and implement initiatives that drive organisational excellence and impactful outcomes, including innovative HR solutions, and the future strategy for HR technology and systems. About the Role Reporting to our Chief People Officer, this is a unique, and newly created executive leadership opportunity. As the Director of People Partnering and Services, you will lead our people functions responsible for driving strategic HR operations and services. In this position, you will lead high-performing teams delivering essential services, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with CSIRO’s vision. Your high-level duties will include: Leading specialist teams to deliver impactful HR services, including payroll, case management, and industrial relations. Providing strategic advice and trusted guidance on complex people issues and change management initiatives. Driving continuous improvement in HR processes, systems, and service delivery through performance monitoring and data-driven insights. Shaping and delivering the HR technology roadmap, our employee relations framework and on-going alignment of policy to enhance organisational agility and employee experience. Building collaborative relationships across CSIRO to align HR services with organisational strategy and goals. Location: Melbourne (Clayton site), Canberra (Black Mountain site) preferred. Other locations may be considered. Hybrid work and flexible options available. Salary: Attractive salary package + 15.4% superannuation, negotiable for the right candidate. Tenure: Specified Term of 3 years - Full-time. To be considered you will bring: Demonstrated organisational-wide success in leading strategic HR initiatives within complex organisations. Outstanding people leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships and driving cultural change. Expertise in strategic HR business partnering, industrial relations, and change management with a proven record of working effectively at senior executive and board levels. A track record of implementing impactful process improvements and achieving measurable outcomes in HR operations as well as success in developing and implementing innovative HR technology solutions. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and drive cultural change. A proven ability to deliver pragmatic solutions to complex people challenges and provide guidance to executive leaders.
