SC2: Demonstrated capacity to supervise the work of other support staff and to develop procedures and guidelines relating to the work area. SC3: Demonstrated capacity to co-ordinate relevant professional development activities to enhance staff knowledge and understanding of students with specific learning or behavioural difficulties as well as lead a learning support team. SC4: Demonstrated high level oral, written communication and interpersonal skills, including teamwork and collaboration. SC5: Relevant qualifications and experience in areas of education support, inclusion and disability. Role Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations. Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers. Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives. An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher. A person with ABA qualifications would be preferred but not required. Responsibilities The Disability Inclusion Support Coordinator will: Work with the relevant Learning Leaders and Learning Support staff to establish systems for monitoring of student learning goals and classroom adjustments. Adjust and track classroom interventions and adjustments based on documented plans in place for students with Education Support Teachers. Deliver a professional support service in schools, including the development of policy and operational practices that will guide the work of others, including school staff. Undertake advanced interventions in dealing with particularly complex cases that may require cross-profession or agency collaboration. Deliver health and wellbeing education and promotion programs in collaboration with the school community, providing health and wellbeing advice. Work actively to reduce negative health and wellbeing outcomes and risk-taking behaviours. Promote a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing to students, staff and families. Support school staff to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, interventions and programs. Collaborate with school staff to inform, influence and provide input into teaching and learning related to mental health and wellbeing. Work with school leadership and wellbeing teams to embed whole school approaches to mental health into school planning and strategic processes. Coordinate clear referral pathways for students identified as requiring further assessment and intervention. Proactively support regional staff, school wellbeing and leadership teams, teachers, parents/carers and external agencies to coordinate targeted mental health support. Contribute to the school's existing wellbeing team. Oversee and ensure quality Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities and additional needs. Promote a culture of high expectations and aspirations for students with disabilities or additional needs. Work with the school leadership team to ensure the Disability Inclusion program aligns with School and Department policy. Assist in the organisation of Disability Inclusion Profile meetings and SSG meetings. Support school staff in preparing students and parents/carers for SSGs. Ensure the establishment of student support groups (SSGs) for all students who may benefit from a Disability Inclusion meeting. Prepare funding applications with the support of the Disability Inclusion Leader. Liaise with a range of agencies and department personnel. Perform other administrative support tasks as directed by the Wellbeing Assistant Principal.
